Us In Octaves
Originally casted and crewed for a March 2020 shoot in Upstate New York, the pandemic had other plans for what eventually became a two part musical narrative filmed in a sweltering Rockaway Beach summer two years later. The production was ironically titled “Ghosted”, and the footage we captured over three magical days was based on my song Ceremony, later extended to accommodate the ensuing storyline. A second song, Give Them All Their Flowers Now (named at a celebration of the late avant garde jazz trumpeter Jaimie Branch) is a moody, abstract banger envisioned as its companion.
Us In Octaves began screening worldwide in festivals the following summer just before the release of Thank Your Demons, picking up nominations at the LA International Music Video Festival, and awards for Best Music Video in both Artist Forum of The Moving Image (NYC) & Austin’s Under The Stars Festival.
On Valentine’s Day of 2024, Part One was made public on YouTube. Today, March 13th, Part Two finishes the story we’ve begun.
